- Bombay Indian Restaurant
This Indian restaurant located two blocks from each of our houses is known for their excellent $6.99 lunch buffet and has a diverse evening menu.
- Khun Phoa Thai Cuisine
These excellent Thai restaurants are both within a block or two of our houses and offer some of the best Thai cuisine in The City. Try their outstanding chicken satay, or the Halibut Castro! Tom, the owner, is a sweetheart.
- The Sausage Factory
This excellent and homey restaurant is around the corner from our Village House and about four blocks from 24 Henry. Many years ago this building actually housed a sausage factory. - The Castro Theatre
With its Wurlitzer Organ, the Castro Theatre showcases the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival each June, as well as other film festivals year-round. Check out their Web site for upcoming programs and events.
- Trevor Hailey's Cruisin' the Castro
Trevor Hailey's Cruisin' the Castro walking tour is highly recommended. Trevor is a good friend and has frequently appeared on national and international TV as a spokesperson for our Castro District. This fellow International Gay and Lesbian Association member delivers an engrossing experience in our Village.

Travel Destinations
- Saratoga Springs
A 265 acre resort for groups about 2 hours north of San Francisco near Clear Lake. AccomodaAccommodationsounds, pool, hot-tub, conference/seminar building. A healing center for gay, lesbian and straight groups. Gay owned.
- Highlands Resort
We always recommend the tranquil Highlands Resort at the Russian River 1 1/2 hours north of San Francisco. Ken and Lynette, the owners, have rooms, cabins, a campground, pool and hot-tub, all amongst the redwoods on several acres. Yet the town of Guerneville is two blocks away.
- Hillcrest Inn
This reasonably priced centrally located inn is in San Diego's gay and lesbian neighborhood, Hillcrest. Tell manager, Jerry, we sent you. And be sure to have coffee at David's coffee house next door.
- Columbia Fun Maps
We frequently house staff of the international gay Fun Maps which are distributed to travelers in major gay and lesbian cities around the world.
